It depends, first and foremost, on the deferred update timer, which coalesces multiple X drawing commands into a single framebuffer update to prevent excessive network chatter. Thus, the time between an X request being received and the subsequent RFB update being sent is not deterministic. Since all X servers are single-threaded, the TurboVNC Server has to handle both X11 requests from X applications (“X clients”) and RFB traffic from VNC viewers in the same thread.
